The beer that defined the tripel. Pale, spiced by yeast rather than spices, and hides nine and a half percent behind a dry finish.
Brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery, under the supervision of the monastic community, with profits directed to the monastery or to charity. The roster is not fixed. Breweries have both gained and lost the designation as their communities changed.
