The strongest of the Chimay beers, first brewed as a Christmas ale. Vintage-dated on the cork and rewards years of patience.
Brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery, under the supervision of the monastic community, with profits directed to the monastery or to charity. The roster is not fixed. Breweries have both gained and lost the designation as their communities changed.
