Darker and maltier than most wheat beers, from the brewery that kept wheat brewing alive when Bavarian royalty gave up the monopoly.
Originally limited beer to water, barley and hops. Yeast was not yet understood. Not a modern legal requirement for most beer sold in Germany, but still claimed as a mark of tradition.
