Franconia

Northern Bavaria, and the densest concentration of breweries per head anywhere on earth. Franconia kept village brewing alive through the industrial era, including the smoked malts that survive nowhere else. An administrative region rather than a brewing appellation, so it never displaces the city in an origin line.
